Originally built for   EXPO 86, the combination hotel/convention center/cruise ship terminal shows up in at least half of all Vancouver postcards and is the exceptional piece of architecture along the Vancouver waterfront. Vancouver Canada Place is also a focal point of the downtown, and a meeting place for residents and tourists alike.

Canada Place also has great views - One of the best places to take pictures of the grouse Mountains & North Vancouver. Watch float planes taking off and landing. Other attractions are IMAX theatre.

A walk to the north end of the building provides open views of Burrard Inlet, the North Shore Mountains, North and West Vancouver, and Stanley Park. You will see boats and cruise ships, the Sea bus and floatplanes taking off. And behind you is downtown Vancouver, especially impressive at night with the city lights.
